The Famous Love Story

  

 Everyone knows the story of Romeo and Juliet but not everyone has seen the movie that perfectly captures the beautifully, famously written play. The movie is a little corky with them speaking in the same language that they play was written by Shakespeare. However the movie allowed one to visualize the authentic story and captured the true emotions behind the characters in the play. Watching the movie in class was very interesting how they depicted the Montagues and Capulets. The Montagues come from the rougher parts of the neighborhoods and the Capulets are rich and wealthy. Romeo and his friends crash a Capulet party that they throw every year, and there he met Juliet. They immediately fell in love and watching the movie it was beautiful to see how Romeo continued to chase after her knowing they come from two different "worlds". The beat the odds and fought to be with one another. Unfortunately at the end Romeo thought Juliet committed suicide so he drank the poison he thought she drank and when it was too late he saw that she was actually alive. Romeo died almost instantly and then Juliet committed suicide after watching him die.

    Visually I did like watching this one movie over the other that have been presented to me. Also, I chose this source of information because I am mainly a visual learner. I like to read but with this theme I need all sources in order for me to understand what is really going.

    Hey Kam, I agree the movie seem corky because they didn't use modern English, but it did captured the true emotions behind each character.

Chekhov created a play that wasn't your average play, this play gives you a sense of reality and real things people in this world think about and the false reality of what they want to live up to. Popol Vuh, where to start in this crazy "myth". The complete text is blasphemy ! This entire read was mocking the entire word of God. It took the truth in the Bible and turned it into false truth. In the beginning of the text it is said that everything was still, there was no creation on the earth until two gods come together and conceived to make humanity, animals first. These gods wanted to be worshipped and spoken to but because the animals did not have a language they wiped them off the earth by getting eaten and killed. Five Years Next Sunday 📚 This story 5 years next sunday exemplifies magical realism and allows the reader to truly connect with the protagonist. This story is about a Kenyan woman who has supernatural powers through her hair. Her power allows rain to come when its cut but in this story she hadn't cut her hair in 5 years. A white foreigner man sees Pili's hair and instantly  becomes obsessed with how it looks. In the story he shows up to her home and has long conversations with her parents. Some sort of exchange seems to happen. Throughout the story Seth, the foreigner, and Pili become more and more familiar with one another where it seems to be a relationship going on.
