 Markers Statement:

Creating this infographic was truly a great experience, it allowed me to see the play, "The Seagull" in a different light and truly appreciate what Chekhov was going for in the play. It allowed me to analize what truly had meaning in my life and if what I prioritized was of importance. I had to reread the play at times to have deeper understanding of the themes of the play and also the moral of the story. The moral of the story was the hardest for me to grasp because I believe that it's open for interpretation. There weren't any problems I came across when I fully understood what to do for the midterm project. Initially I had some confession of what I was suppose to do but as professor took time to explain and reassign our assignment with more details then I understood the concept of the project. I choose this piece of literature to write about because it's more relatable.

  This play was truly a lot of twist and turns! Chekhov created a play that wasn't your average play, this play gives you a sense of reality and real things people in this world think about and the false reality of what they want to live up to. This play also made me think about what was truly important to me and if relationships matter more to me or does my career do. We would like to think that many of us have a "healthy balance" but I would personally say relationships matter more to me then my career. In this play they Treplev, Trigorin, Nina, and Arkadina make their career and how successful they are or want to become their identity. They are truly obsessed with them being the next big thing! Popol Vuh, where to start in this crazy "myth". The complete text is blasphemy ! This entire read was mocking the entire word of God. It took the truth in the Bible and turned it into false truth. In the beginning of the text it is said that everything was still, there was no creation on the earth until two gods come together and conceived to make humanity, animals first. These gods wanted to be worshipped and spoken to but because the animals did not have a language they wiped them off the earth by getting eaten and killed. After they decided to get rid of animals these gods decided okay lets make people from mud, sounds too familiar doesn't it, that didn't work out for them so they created man out of wood. Five Years Next Sunday 📚 This story 5 years next sunday exemplifies magical realism and allows the reader to truly connect with the protagonist. This story is about a Kenyan woman who has supernatural powers through her hair. Her power allows rain to come when its cut but in this story she hadn't cut her hair in 5 years. A white foreigner man sees Pili's hair and instantly  becomes obsessed with how it looks. In the story he shows up to her home and has long conversations with her parents. Some sort of exchange seems to happen. Throughout the story Seth, the foreigner, and Pili become more and more familiar with one another where it seems to be a relationship going on. In exchange for this relationship where he becomes more and more obsessed with her hair, there is an exchange of money happening between Seth and Pili's parents.
